DIVINE APPOINTMENT

1. DIVINE APPOINTMENT is God reaching out and working through man to fulfil His ETERNAL PURPOSE in us, “For it is God which worketh in you both to WILL and to DO of HIS GOOD PLEASURE” [Philippians 2:13] Adam and Eve enjoyed regular engagements with God in Eden, who also gave them FREE WILL, Genesis 2:16-17, that the “PLEASURE” might be mutual. However, the arrangement was violated by man’s disobedience, “And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, WHERE ART THOU ? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I WAS NAKED; and I HID MYSELF” Genesis 3:9-10] It is no coincidence all men are born “NAKED”, naturally averse to God. Nonetheless, God remained faithful in love, He made them “COATS” to cover their “NAKEDNESS”, “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD GOD MAKE COATS OF SKINS and CLOTHED THEM” [Genesis 3:21] The BLOOD shed in making the “COATS” served as “COVERING” for SIN, a new protocol for DIVINE APPOINTMENT, restricted to hearts made “RIGHT” by BLOOD, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them WHOSE HEART IS PERFECT TOWARD HIM …” [2 Chronicles 16:9]
2. Howbeit, the BLOOD of animals was fraught with challenges, “But in those sacrifices there is a REMEMBRANCE AGAIN MADE OF SINS every year. For it is NOT POSSIBLE THAT THE BLOOD OF BULLS AND OF GOATS SHOULD TAKE AWAY SINS” [Hebrews 10:3-4] From Adam to John Baptist, about 4,000 years, God made several APPOINTMENTS through His Prophets but man was hindered by “CONSCIENCE of SINS, Hebrews 10:2: the BLOOD of animals was insufficient to remove “REMEMBRANCE” of SIN. The frustration was not lost on Elijah, “… he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I AM NOT BETTER THAN MY FATHERS” [1 Kings 19:4] What the BLOOD of animals could not do, JESUS CHRIST did; His DEATH paid for SIN, His BLOOD PURGED our “CONSCIENCE” of SIN, “By the which will WE ARE SANCTIFIED through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. … Having therefore, brethren, boldness to ENTER INTO THE HOLIEST BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS” [Hebrews 10:10,19] In JESUS CHRIST, God became like us that we may be like Him, John 14:11,20, enabled as “CO-LABOURERS”, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. … For we are LABOURERS TOGETHER WITH GOD: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building” [1 Corinthians 3:6,9]
3. In the last 2,000 years, the CHURCH was the hub of God’s Kingdom on earth. Faithful men in successive CHURCH AGES enforced God’s WILL, we are the SEVENTH, the LAODICEAN CHURCH [Revelation 3:14-22] Our marching orders are to prepare for CHRIST’S appearance to receive His BRIDE and now, He is at the door, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: IF ANY MAN HEAR MY VOICE, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with men” [Revelation 3:20] The tone of His “VOICE”, “IF ANY MAN HEAR MY VOICE” is a grievous indictment of a SLUMBERING CHURCH, “While the bridegroom tarried, they ALL SLUMBERED AND SLEPT” [Matthew 25:5] This “SLUMBER” is spiritual, a delinquent departure from DIVINE APPOINTMENT into shame of “NAKEDNESS”, Genesis 3:21, worse than Adam and Eve, “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art WRETCHED, and MISERABLE, and POOR,, and BLIND, and NAKED” [Revelation 3:17] Whereas Adam and Eve admitted they were “NAKED”, Genesis 3:7, this generation adorn her shame with cantered prosperity, “Your GOLD and SILVER IS CANKERED; and the rust of them shall be A WITNESS AGAINST YOU, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days” [James 5:3]
4. Lest we forget, “ALL SLUMBERED and SLEPT” and impervious to His “KNOCKING” but His “VOICE”, yet His LOVE broke through, “AS MANY I LOVE, I REBUKE and chasten: be zealous therefore, and REPENT” [Revelation 3:19] Those who took His “REBUKE” in good faith recognized His VOICE AWOKE to REPENTANCE. And seeing it was “MIDNIGHT HOUR” and JESUS is at the door “CRIED” to alert others, “And AT MIDNIGHT THERE WAS A CRY made, Behold, the BRIDEGROOM COMETH; go ye out to meet him” [Matthew 25:6] Those who make the MIDNIGHT CRY are “FRIENDS of the BRIDEGROOM” by DIVINE APPOINTMENT, John 3:29; elect for this hour to herald the GREAT REVIVAL and imminent appearance of JESUS CHRIST, “Then ALL THOSE VIRGINS AROSE, and trimmed their lamps” [Matthew 25:7] REVIVING His CHURCH is urgent, the Lord has need of faithful hands to sound the ALARM, repair the “BREACH” and. “… raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The REPAIRER OF THE BREACH, The RESTORER OF PATHS TO DWELL IN” [Isaiah 58:12] You are a candidate for this pressing APPOINTMENT, that’s why you are reading this, let’s come together to draw down the LATTER RAIN with PRAYERS, “ASK YE OF THE LORD RAIN IN THE TIME OF THE LATTER RAIN; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field” [Zechariah 10:1]
