ONCE MORE
1. God does not make mistakes, when He said ONCE MORE, He was not correcting an error but emphasising a PATTERN, "Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath PROMISED, saying, Yet ONCE MORE I SHAKE NOT THE EARTH ONLY, BUT ALSO HEAVEN. And this word, Yet ONCE MORE, signifieth the REMOVING OF THOSE THINGS THAT ARE SHAKEN, as of things that are made, that those THINGS WHICH CANNOT BE SHAKEN MAY REMAIN" [Hebrews 12:26-27] God's PATTERNS are keys to understanding DIVINE AGENDA and paths of WISDOM to those who walk before Him. First "SHAKING" was on mount Sinai, when the LORD DESCENDED to make a CHURCH of His people and what a fearful sight it was, "And mount SINAI WAS ALTOGETHER ON A SMOKE, because the LORD DESCENDED UPON IT IN FIRE: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the WHOLE MOUNT QUAKED GREATLY" [Exodus 19:18] He came to "SHAKE" off the residue of Egypt and establish a nation of KINGS and PRIESTS but His people were not ready, "And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but LET NOT GOD SPEAK WITH US, lest we die" [Exodus 20:19]
2. Moses was faithful in his calling, HEARING from God and SPEAKING to the CHURCH and to which God testified, "My servant MOSES is not so, who is FAITHFUL IN ALL MINE HOUSE. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; ... " [Numbers 12:7-8] After him, God spoke through His PROPHETS, calling attention to their disobedience and warning of consequences; some they killed, others they barely tolerated. In due season, the "LORD DESCENDED" but not as on mount Sinai; this time, the FATHER revealed Himself in the SON, JESUS CHRIST, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these LAST DAYS SPOKEN UNTO US BY HIS SON, ... Who being the brightness of his glory, and the EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON ..." [Hebrews 1:1-3] JESUS came to erase SIN, remove all barriers between man and God and establish us as SONS, inseparable from God but the world rejected Him. He was hung on the Cross till He died but God raised Him the third day, "But as many as RECEIVED HIM, TO THEM GAVE HE POWER TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD, even to them that believe on his name" [John 1:12]
3. We are SONS of God, not because we are JEWS or our parents CHRISTIANS but by the SEAL of the HOLY GHOST which JESUS promised, Acts 1:8, and fulfilled at PENTECOST, "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were ALL FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST, ..." [Acts 2:3-4] HOLY GHOST is the SPIRIT of CHRIST, the IDENTITY of God in us by which we are ONE with God; even as the FATHER and SON are ONE, so are we in Him [John 14:20,23] We are SEALED, inseparable from God by the HOLY GHOST, "UNSHAKEABLE", "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were SEALED WITH THAT HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory" [Ephesians 1:13-14] When God said, "ONCE MORE I SHAKE NOT THE EARTH ONLY, BUT ALSO HEAVEN", He spoke of the END of THINGS, PERSONS and KINGDOMS which are not SEALED by His SPIRIT that He might RECEIVE the vintage HARVEST of the earth, a CHURCH without SPOT or WRINKLE [Ephesians 5:27]
4. ONCE MORE, signal consummation of the PATTERN of mount Sinai. This time, God shall make an END through JUDGMENT, "For the time is come that JUDGMENT MUST BEGIN AT THE HOUSE OF GOD: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" [1 Peter 4:16-17] His JUDGMENT shall be according to precepts, the LORD shall DESCEND in consonance with PATTERN set in Joel 2:28 and put to work in Acts 2:1-3. This time, He shall pour the HOLY GHOST on all nations for the GREAT REVIVAL; "Indians, Japanese, Nigerians, Chinese, Russians, Kenyans, Egyptians, Germans, etc., at once, "And it shall come to pass in the LAST DAYS, saith God, I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT UPON ALL FLESH ..." [Acts 2:17] The GREAT REVIVAL shall SHAKE the earth to her foundations and CHURCH PURGED by roaring flames of the HOLY GHOST. Whatsoever and whosoever are not SEALED by the HOLY GHOST shall FALL AWAY" and consumed, 2 Thessalonians 2:3, and the BRIDE TRANSLATED to be with the LORD forever. Beloved, this is no time to fall asleep, it will all happen so fast. WATCH and PRAY to be baptized into THE GREAT REVIVAL, "For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because A SHORT WORK WILL THE LORD MAKE UPON THE EARTH" [Romans 9:28]

2026 : FOLLOW THE STAR
1. Every NEW YEAR is a FRESH START, a journey of three hundred and sixty-five days; a pilgrimage of HOPE. Looking back at 2025, the successes and missed opportunities, 2026 is an exciting opportunity to FOLLOW THE STAR. This brings to mind the "WISE MEN" who travelled from the East to Bethlehem to worship JESUS, "Now when JESUS WAS BORN in Bethlehem of Judaea ... behold, there came WISE MEN FROM THE EAST to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have SEEN HIS STAR in the east, and are come TO WORSHIP HIM" [Matthew 2:1-2] We may never know how many men set out from the East, we know the journey is close to one thousand miles. In spite of diverse perils, "His STAR" guided them and it was mission accomplished, "And when they were COME INTO THE HOUSE, they SAW THE YOUNG CHILD with Mary his mother, and fell down, and WORSHIPPED HIM and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh" [Matthew 2:11] Those who FOLLOW THE STAR accomplish ther purpose and so will you in the new year, if you FOLLOW THE STAR.
2. Though there were billions of stars in the sky, the WISE MEN were sure which one to FOLLOW, "Saying, ... WE HAVE SEEN HIS STAR in the east, and are COME TO WORSHIP HIM" [Matthew 2:2] The first thing to do is LOOK UP to fing His STAR, not here or there. LOOKING UP means seeking God, the ONE whose manifestation on earth was indicated by the BRIGHT and MORNING STAR, "I JESUS have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the BRIGHT AND MORNING STAR" [Revelation 22:16] The BIRTH of JESUS CHRIST was the turning point of creation, God was revealed in JESUS CHRIST to REDEEM us from vicarious consequences of SIN, "To wit, that GOD WAS IN CHRIST, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them ..." [2 Corinthians 5:19] This new year is a perfect opportunity to make a break with the past and start on a clean slate with God in your corner, "Therefore IF ANY MAN BE IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATURE: OLD THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY; behold, all things are become new" [2 Corinthians 5:17] Turn your life over to JESUS CHRIST today as your Lord and Saviour.
3. We'll never know how many months the WISE MEN were on the road, assaulted by diverse challenges. This brings to mind another set of travellers, "And TERAH TOOK ABRAM HIS SON, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, TO GO INTO THE LAND OF CANAAN; and they CAME UNTO HARAN, and DWELT THERE ... and TERAH DIED IN HARAN" [Genesis 11:31-32] Their destination was CANAAN but "HARAN" proved to be a defining stumblingblock. Abraham learnt his lesson quite early and refused to be deterred or distracted; his desire was far higher, more excellent than earthly considerations, "BY FAITH HE SOJOURNED IN THE LAND OF PROMISE, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for A CITY which hath THEfoundations, WHOSE BUILDER AND MAKER IS GOD" [Hebrews 11:9-10] This year, choose to SEE beyond unstable economic, social and political concerns; establish your heart in God's unfailing PROMISES, who is able to do, "... exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us" [Ephesians 3:20]
4. New year resolutions may fizzle out before end of January; predictions and foretelling rarely measure up to weather forecasts. FAITH, absolute TRUST in the WORD of God never fails, "TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL THINE HEART; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and HE SHALL DIRECT THY PATHS. Be not wise in thine own eyes: FEAR THE LORD, and DEPART FROM EVIL" [Proverbs 3:5-7] Every year comes pregnant with both good and bad turns, likewise WISE MEN from the East; they had their fair share of sweet and bitter bills on the road but never wavered. We have a better deal than them; they started out with the STAR high above them, the STAR arises in our hearts, "We have also A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a LIGHT THAT SHINETH IN A DARK PLACE, until the day dawn, and the DAY STAR ARISE IN YOUR HEARTS" [2 Peter 1:19] Set your compass for the year in JESUS CHRIST, allow the DAY STAR to guide and establish you in the riches of His GLORY, "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST IN YOU, the HOPE OF GLORY" [Colossians 1:27] -
THE BATTLE CRY
THE BATTLE CRY
1. Every CONFLICT is a BATTLE of WORDS. There is no better example than the primordial clash of LIGHT against DARKNESS, "And the earth was without form, and void; and DARKNESS WAS UPON THE FACE OF THE DEEP. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And GOD SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHT: and THERE WAS LIGHT" [Genesis 1:2-3] LIGHT prevailed but DARKNESS was not extinguished, that the purpose of God might be fulfilled who has appointed a DAY to JUDGE the world and all therein, through JESUS CHRIST [Acts 17:31] Ever since and more so now, LIGHT and DARKNESS have been at each other's throat; CHURCH on one side, reflecting the LIGHT and the WORLD on the other side, enveloped in DARKNESS, "For WE WRESTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, but against principalities, against powers, AGAINST THE RULERS OF THE DARKNESS OF THIS WORLD, against spiritual wickedness in high places" [Ephesians 6:12] From onset, the BATTLE CRY was the NAME of the Lord, "And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began MEN BEGAN TO CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD" [Genesis 4:26]
2. The BATTLE is about narratives, each camp determined to enforce his vision on the other. Nowhere is the warfare more evident than in the creeping snare of WORLDLINESS smothering the CHURCH to SLUMBER. Numbers are deceptive; CHURCH attendance is vastly increasing but the LIGHT is dim and PROPHECY fulfilled, "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. ... While the bridegroom tarried, they ALL SLUMBERED AND SLEPT" [Matthew 25:1,5] As we speak, the lines are blurred between CHURCH and the WORLD, the noise of BATTLE muffled by delusions of material "PROSPERITY". The BATTLE CRY has silently given way to worldly slogans and some who once fought valiantly as SOLDIERS of CHRIST have relapsed into affairs of this world, "Thou therefore ENDURE HARDNESS, as a GOOD SOLDIER OF JESUS CHRIST. NO MAN THAT WARRETH ENTANGLETH HIMSELF WITH THE AFFAIRS OF THIS LIFE; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier" [2 Timothy 2:3-4] His NAME, the BATTLE CRY passed to us from the beginning is as potent as ever, we are the problem; an adulterous generation refusing to "ENDURE HARDNESS".
3. The NIGHT has been long and a new DAWN unfolds before our eyes, the GREAT REVIVAL is here, "While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And AT MIDNIGHT THERE WAS A CRY MADE, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him" [Matthew 25:5-6] GREAT REVIVAL is the final push back against DARKNESS, prelude to our TRANSLATION and COMING of the Lord JESUS CHRIST to "CONSUME" DARKNESS and usher the MILLENIUM of peace and righteousness on earth, "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the LORD SHALL CONSUME WITH THE SPIRIT OF HIS MOUTH, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming" [2 Thessalonians 2:7-8] GREAT REVIVAL is the "AWAKENING" of the CHURCH, the ultimate outpouring of the SPIRIT of CHRIST, "... casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and BRINGING INTO CAPTIVITY EVERY THOUGHT TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST" [2 Corinthians 10:4-5] His NAME is our BATTLE CRY and a "SHORT WORK" He shall make of it [Romans 9:28]
4. King SAUL'S offer of "FAILED ARMOUR" to DAVID against GOLIATH illustrate the tragice HYPOCRISY of this generation [1 Samuel 17:38-39] GOLIATHS of this world fight in the name of their gods [1 Samuel 17:43] The NAME of the LORD alone, subdues them, "Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I COME TO THEE IN THE NAME OF THE LORD OF HOSTS, the GOD of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied" [1 Samuel 17:45] The LORD is our GOD, His NAME is JESUS CHRIST, in Him dwells the fulness of the GODHEAD [Colossians 2:9] And now, as in Genesis 4:26, there is a mighty "STIRRING" as faithful men call upon His NAME, "... WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME: That AT THE NAME OF JESUS EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth" [Philippians 2:9-10] Embers of REVIVAL are growing in the place of PRAYER into God's END-TIME ARMY. Our BATTLE CRY is JESUS CHRIST, our armoury is the POWER in the REVELATION of His NAME, "Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, ..." [Malachi 3:16]

LIVING SACRIFICE
LIVING SACRIFICE
1. In Genesis 15:2, Abraham was visibly TROUBLED by his "CHILDLESSNESS", the kind of heartache that drowns FAITH in UNBELIEF. God reassured Abraham and his FAITH REVIVED, "And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And HE BELIEVED IN THE LORD; and HE COUNTED IT TO HIM FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS" [Genesis 15:5-6] Abraham obtained RIGHTEOUSNESS through FAITH and a rejuvenating REVIVAL for a NEW BEGINNING with God. The SACRIFICE that followed, Genesis 15:8-10, the first reference to FIRE in the Bible, sealed the REVIVAL by FIRE, "And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a SMOKING FURNACE, and a BURNING LAMP that PASSED BETWEEN THOSE PIECES" [Genesis 15:17]
2. SMOKING FURNACE is FIRE enveloped in DARKNESS, illustrating Abraham's PAST and God's resolve to CONSUME whatsoever is not of FAITH, "Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.For the LORD thy GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE ..." [Deuteronomy 4:23-24] BURNING LAMP symbolize refreshing REVIVAL of TRUTH and restoration of PATHS of RIGHTEOUSNESS, as it is written: "Thy word is a LAMP UNTO MY FEET, and a LIGHT UNTO MY PATH" [Psalms 119:105] Presently, CHURCH is evidently TROUBLED, our SEAL of FIRE swaddled in multiple layers of religious HYPOCRISY and PROPHECY fulfilled, "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; ..." [1 Timothy 4:1-2]
3. Abraham received specific instructions for the SACRIFICE in Genesis 15:9-10, and so have we, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye PRESENT YOUR BODIES A LIVING SACRIFICE, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" [Romans12:1] God no longer delights in animal SACRIFICE and little or no regard for offerings of MONEY. We PRAY for REVIVAL and it is well we do but the FIRE refuses to come;because the SACRIFICE is neither SET nor RIGHT; only a LIVING SACRIFICE will do as at PENTECOST, "And when the day of PENTECOST was fully come, ... there appeared unto them CLOVEN TONGUES LIKE AS OF FIRE, and IT SAT UPON EACH OF THEM" [Acts 2:1-3] A LIVING SACRIFICE is one who has denied whatever he or she ever desired to be and LIVES only to become what CHRIST wants him or her to be [Galatians 2:20] No wonder, JESUS said, "... when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? [Luke 18:8]
4. As we speak SMOKING FURNACE is at work on LIVING SACRIFICE, scorching and purging. And what a spectacle it is, as the world sneers at our FELLOWSHIP of CHRIST'S SUFFERING; the agony of separation from the world, rejection by loved ones and sundy deprivations, "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS, being made CONFORMABLE UNTO HIS DEATH" [Philippians 3:10] We must continue to PRAY, offering ourselves as LIVING SACRIFICE in readiness for the FIRE and GREAT REVIVAL. We shall be turned to BURNING LAMPS encompass the earth with the GOSPEL and while the FIRE yet burn fiercely we shall be TRANSLATED to GLORY. I invite you to join me and others who FEAR the Lord to PRAY down the FIRE, as it is written: "Then THEY THAT FEARED THE LORD SPAKE OFTEN ONE TO ANOTHER: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name" [Malachi 3:16]

THE LATTER RAIN
1. RAIN is synonymous with WATER and WATER, with HOPE and HOPE rooted in God never fails, "For there is HOPE OF A TREE, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; Yet THROUGH THE SCENT OF WATER IT WILL BUD, and BRING FORTH BOUGHS LIKE A PLANT" [Job 14:7-9] JOB was not thinking of droplets of water, his HOPE was anchored on God for a GREAT REVIVAL of His GOODNESS. In excruciating pains and sorrows, JOB acknowledged the FORMER RAIN of God's GOODNESS, Job 2:9-10 and longed for His LATTER RAIN to restore his JOY and FRUITFULNESS, "... that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and REMEMBER ME! If a man die, shall he live again? ALL THE DAYS OF MY APPOINTED TIME WILL I WAIT, TILL MY CHANGE COME. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands" Job 14:13-15
2. Every farmer waits for EARLY RAIN and chooses his SEED carefully. God, the ultimate HUSBANDMAN, an old English word for FARMER, released FORMER RAIN at PENTECOST. The SEED was His WORD, the GOSPEL preached in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST in HOPE of bountiful HARVEST of SOULS in His LIKENESS, "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" [Galatians 6:7] EARLY/FORMER RAIN softens the earth, the SEED goes in the ground and the farmer's Job is largely done. So is the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST, the strength is not in riches, men or religious organisations but in the WORD and EARLY RAIN; it is UNQUENCHABLE, "And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should CAST SEED INTO THE GROUND; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear" Mark 4:26-28
3. JOB aptly illustrate the gap between EARLY and LATTER RAIN; HEARTS softened by FORMER RAIN are sooner hardened and watching them wilt under distress, the farmer longs in PATIENCE for the LATTER RAIN, "Be PATIENT therefore, brethren, unto the COMING OF THE LORD. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the EARLY and LATTER RAIN. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the COMING OF THE LORD DRAWETH NIGH" [James 5:7-8] As JOB patiently ENDURED his AFFLICTIONS, TRUSTING in the Lord, so do we in HOPE of HIS COMING. We stand, fully assured of LATTER RAIN before His APPEARANCE and rejoice in HOPE, knowing we shall be matured in His LIKENESS by the outpouring of His SPIRIT. And what a a bountiful HARVEST we shall be to the Lord, "Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest" Isaiah 32:15
4. FORMER RAIN is some 2,000 years old, parched SOULS are wearied and CHURCH fallen into SLUMBER, "While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And AT MIDNIGHT THERE WAS A CRY, Behold, THE BRIDEGROOM COMETH cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps" [Matthew 25:5-7] MIDNIGHT CRY is the rumbling of THUNDER, the mighty rushing sound of LATTER RAIN; a CALL to PRAYER for those who have EARS to HEAR above the many voices in the world, "... for there is a SOUND OF ABUNDANCE OF RAIN. ... And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, ... And it came to pass at the SEVENTH TIME, that he said, Behold, there ariseth A LITTLE CLOUD out of the sea, like a man's hand. ... And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was A GREAT RAIN" [1 Kings 18:41-42,44-45]

SNARES OF DEATH
1. A SNARE is a DEVICE designed primarily to bring into BONDAGE, DEATH is an APPOINTMENT common to men, “Wherefore, as BY ONE MAN SIN ENTERED INTO THE WORLD, and DEATH BY SIN; and so DEATH PASSED UPON ALL MEN, for that all have sinned” [Romans 5:12] DEATH is a pre-arranged meeting with JUDGMENT, every man shall be weighed; condemned to perdition for SIN or approved to glory in the RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS CHRIST, “And as it is APPOINTED UNTO MEN ONCE TO DIE, but AFTER THIS THE JUDGMENT: So CHRIST WAS ONCE OFFERED TO BEAR THE SINS OF MANY; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” [Hebrews 9:27-28] JESUS already paid for SIN and in Him have victory over SIN and DEATH by GRACE through FAITH in His NAME. However, there is the LAKE of FIRE, for which Satan has set SNARES OF DEATH for those who shall join him in SECOND DEATH, “And DEATH AND HELL WERE CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE. THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH. And whosoever was not found written in the BOOK OF LIFE was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE” [Revelation 20:14-15]
2. FEAR is the principal SNARE of DEATH, hunting and locking men up in SECOND DEATH while they yet live. FEAR is the heart-breaking reality of SIN, “And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I WAS AFRAID, because I WAS NAKED; and I HID MYSELF. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?” [Genesis 3:10-11] Sting of FEAR is unimaginable HOPELESSNESS of condemnation of separation from God, for which God revealed Himself in JESUS CHRIST to REDEEM us to Himself in JESUS CHRIST, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that THROUGH DEATH HE MIGHT DESTROY HIM THAT HAD THE POWER OF DEATH, that is, the DEVIL. And deliver them who through FEAR OF DEATH were ALL THEIR LIFETIME SUBJECT TO BONDAGE” [Hebrews 2:14-15] Present global uncertainties, unprecedented casualties and a world wired into a global village has turned FEAR of DEATH into staple diet and in the CHURCH, a worrisome SNARE. A SNARE that gnaws at the root of our FAITH; CONFIDENCE in God, both to SAVE and DELIVER in all situations, “In the FEAR OF THE LORD IS STRONG CONFIDENCE: and his children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to DEPART FROM SNARES OF DEATH” [Proverbs 14:26-27]
3. FEAR unchecked, in recent times morphed into “THEOLOGY” of UNBELIEF on our pulpits, the sickening chalice of SECOND DEATH [Revelation 20:6, 21:8] It is incredible, how over a short period we have built a NEW FACE of CHRISTIANITY, emphasizing what is SEEN and SELF-PRESERVATION, over and above ETERNAL RELEVANCE, “While WE LOOK NOT AT THE THINGS WHICH ARE SEEN, BUT AT THE THINGS WHICH ARE NOT SEEN: for the THINGS WHICH ARE SEEN ARE TEMPORAL; but the THINGS WHICH ARE NOT SEEN ARE ETERNAL” [2 Corinthians 4:18] UNBELIEF tries our UNDERSTANDING of God’s WORD and PATIENCE in Him. Lest we forget, present challenges are TEMPORARY and SUBORDINATE to God’s COUNSEL [Isaiah 46:10] Every time we rationalize contemporary perplexities in context of human possibilities, we stumble into UNBELIEF and a small step from UNBELIEF to SELF-HELP. Our CONFIDENCE in God is now so low we resort to governments, guns, riots and influence peddling to defend us. How do we then convince UNBELIEVERS our God is ALMIGHTY, the ONE who made all things by His WORD, “THROUGH FAITH WE UNDERSTAND that the WORLDS WERE FRAMED BY THE WORD OF GOD, so that things which are SEEN WERE NOT MADE OF THINGS WHICH DO APPEAR” [Hebrews 11:3] Where is HOPE? Where is UNDERSTANDING? Where is blessed ASSURANCE in CHRIST? Where are the WATCHMEN?
4. SNARES OF DEATH are closing, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your ADVERSARY THE DEVIL, as a roaring lion, walketh about, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR: Whom RESIST STEDFAST IN THE FAITH, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world” [1 Peter 5:8-9] It is scary but true, a man may spend all his time in CHURCH and get caught in SECOND DEATH! More disquieting, perhaps, is the popular dogma of motivational UNBELIEF which encourage BELIVERS to promote self-preservation INSTINCTS through adulteration of FAITH in the WORD of God. “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I BELIEVE, HELP THOU MINE UNBELIEF” [Mark 9:23-24] You cannot eat your cake and have it; our God is a jealous GOD [Exodus 20:5] The father of the child “BELIEVED” but when push came to shove, he thankfully recognized his UNBELIEF and cried for HELP. It is time we admit our “LITTLE FOXES” of UNBELIEF and seek HELP from the Lord before we stand to be JUDGED by Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego [Daniel 3:17-18] Today, let us put away FEAR and UNBELIEF, tomorrow may not come, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death” [Revelation 2:11]
