1· SPIRITUAL MAPPING
GOSPEL of Jesus Christ arrived RUSSIA, 9th century AD, through Greek missionaries. In 988 AD Prince Vladimir adopted Byzantine orthodox faith as official state religion. This alignment of State and religion gave birth to the Russian Orthodox Church.
■ Contrary to the heavenly pattern, Czar of Russia was the head of the Church, whose authority is not in God but in men; an incongruous blend of tradition and faith with a distinctive Russian face [Exodus 25:9&20, Colossians 1:16-19]
■ In 1917, the Bolshevik Revolution installed a communist regime. All forms of religion were brutally suppressed and Church estates ceased. The regime collapsed in 1991 and the Church regained her status as the official face of religion in RUSSIA.
■ The primary challenge to the GOSPEL in RUSSIA is a Church so politicised, she consented to ban on private and public evangelism [2 Timothy 3:5]
■ House fellowships are illegal and foreign missionaries accounted as foreign interference. Russian Orthodox Church, 66%. No religion 21%. Other religions 7.5%. Other Christians, 1%.
